Window Panels Overview

Window Panels. This picture shows a pair of window panels that I made for the front door of my daughter's house. Each panel measures 6 x 24 inches, replacing the original clear glass. (Click the picture for a larger view.) Construction is with lead came. In each panel the eight outside-edge pieces are clear glass with a fine thread-like texture. The four pieces surrounding the purple center piece are water glass of a pink champagne color.

Several pattern ideas were considered before this one was chosen. From the "Julie's Front Door" drop-down link you can see pictures and read about how this particular pattern was chosen, and also view various stages of work as the window panels were constructed.

Sliding Windows. This is my biggest-ever project, a pair of sliding windows that my wife Caroline and I designed for our living room. Each window measures 20 x 28 inches and there are 170 pieces of glass in the total construction. There's also a story here about how these windows were designed and constructed.
